What Kind of Questions are on the IBEW Aptitude Test?
The test covers both reading and mathematical comprehension.
The math portion of the exam contains 33 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within 46 minutes. These questions will cover different usages of basic math skills ranging from the solving of number series to resolving algebraic equations.
The reading comprehension section of the exam contains 36 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 50 minutes. This section will include reading prompts that are followed by relevant questions. Each section may have a different number of related questions, and the length of each reading prompt may vary from a few sentences to a few paragraphs.

IBEW Scoring System Details

First, the scores in both sections are calculated based on the right answers, and the score is not reduced due to incorrect answers. This makes it important to answer as many questions as you can, even if you are guessing.
Second, your final score will be shown on a scale from 1-9, with 9 being the best score possible. The IBEW doesn’t release information on which portion of the exam holds which weight in the final scoring, so be certain to prepare for both sections thoroughly.
